Enyimba falls in Akure as Heartland beat Enugu Rangers

       Six-time champions, Enyimba FC will not win the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title this season following their 0-2 loss to Sunshine Stars at the Akure Township stadium on Wednesday.
The defeat means that Enyimba can no longer win the 2012/13 NPFL title as they are still stuck on 59 points from 37 matches, four points adrift of the leaders, Kano Pillars with just one game left to play.
Phillip Auta and Ebenezer Odunlami got the goals for Sunshine Stars in each half as Enyimba’s title charge effectively came to an abrupt end.

In another news , Heartland Fc of Owerri defeated Enugu Rangers by 2-1 to escape relegation in what will be tagged as an oriental derby.
The Coal City side surged forward through Bola Lekan in the 22nd minute while attacking midfielder, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu leveled score for his side in the 40th minute and striker, Bright Ejike grabbed the match winner in the 55th minute.
