MEET MALCOLM BLAZER THE OWNER OF MANCHESTER UNITED
Malcolm Blazer was born on May 25, 1928 in Rochester New york. He is the president and chief executive officer of First Allied Corporation, a holding company for his varied business interests and owns both the Manchester United Football Club of the English Premier League and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a National Football League team based in Tampa, Florida. Malcolm's source of wealth ranges from ownership to sports team and Real Estate. The multi-sport magnate Malcolm Glazer inherited his father's watch parts business at age 15 when his father passed away and later formed real estate company First Allied, which today owns more than 6.7 million square feet of U.S. shopping mall space in 18 states. Glazer paid $192 million for his first sports team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in 1995. Now worth over $1 billion, the Bucs fueled Glazer's interest in sports, leading him to buy one of the premier sports teams in the world: British soccer team Manchester United in 2005. Since the company went public in August 2012, United became the first franchise to be valued at over $3 billion, although it's now only the world's second-most valuable sports team after Real Madrid. Glazer's six children now manage the family's assets. Glazer’s charitable activities have also included the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, an organization that promotes amateur sports activities. Glazer has committed $2 million to the Commission. Glazer currently resides in Palm Beach, Florida. He and his wife, Linda, have six children and 14 grandchildren.
