Few days ago, I saw a photo footage of NFF President Amaju Pinnick and Arsene Wenger in London. As I followed the motive of that visit. Questions rang through my mind as regards the benefits of such visit to our football; What value will this visit bring to our football ? I heard Amaju Pinnick said he is going back to London to see Mourinho, Brenda Rogers, Pellegrini. To woo them for release of Nigeria players, Woo them ? With your personal fund or tax payers money ? Was that in your Manifesto when you were vying for NFF President? What about grass-root football development you promised to make come alive ? Charity begins at home. How many times have you visited Enyimba , Rangers , Kano Pillars, Warri Wolves , Dolphins and woo their coaches for players release ? It's indeed sad the way we run our football . You don't woo a player to play for his country .
We have abundant football talents all over the world and what we need is an environment that will encourage players who were not born here to settle in when they arrive. When you employ a world class coach . You do not need to meet the parents of any player to beg or lobby them to come play for Nigeria . The level of our football should grow beyond wooing player to come play for us.
If we truly want our football to get back better and stronger then there are mistakes we must sincerely avoid. I am not sure it is even your duty to scout for players. What about the coach and the technical committee ? What's their job ?
We must put Nigeria above self in every decision . To me this visit is just a waste of public funds.
