HOME ZOME NPL OUTSTANDING PLAYER

               Chinedu Efugh Heartland FC
Heartland skipper Chinedu Efugh was the star player of the Nigeria league Week 12 round of matches.

‘Chicago’, as Efugh is called, was rock solid to ensure the 3SC strike force led by Gbolahan Salami could not wreck havoc as Heartland shocked the home team 2-0.

He was picked ahead of Rabiu Ali (Kano Pillars), Festus Sunday Umanah(Wikki) and Uche Ihuarulam(Bayelsa United), who all shone in midweek games.

Efugh thwarted most of 3SC attack and deserved this recognition.

"I am very happy that we ended the unbeaten run of 3SC. It was a great game, they were tough but we stood our ground," Efugh told MTNFootball.com

The crafty central defender is one of the experienced players in the league, but he said he has not given up the dream to play overseas.

"I have paid my dues in the Nigeria league, my target is to play in Europe after this season. My dream team is Real Madrid but any good contract from any team in Europe will do for me," said Efugh, who picks Sergio Ramos as his role model.
He said leading Heartland to win the Federation cup back-to-back has been the highlight of his career.

"My greatest moment was winning back- to-back Federation Cup for Heartland and I am hoping to win another trophy this season," he revealed.
Last season, he scored five goals in the league
